- enables Editing of an existing Profile, or Creating a new one.
Edit profile dialog:

Profile entry parameters:
Profile number:
The assigns a Profile number automatically, which cannot be changed by the user.
Profile name:
The maximum length of a Profile name is 20 characters.
Profile algorithm:
- set Profile algorithm to:
| • | G.711 (i.e. digital telephone) |
| • | AAC (only available at CENTAURI 300x and 400x) |
| • | AAC (LD); must be enabled by a key code via Expert/Set Key Code |
| • | MP3 Pro; must be enabled by a key code via Expert/Set Key Code |
| • | Enh. APT-X 16; i.e. enhanced APT-X with 16 bit; must be enabled by a key code via Expert/Set Key Code |
| • | Enh. APT-X 20; i.e. enhanced APT-X with 20 bit; must be enabled by a key code via Expert/Set Key Code |
| • | Enh. APT-X 24; i.e. enhanced APT-X with 24 bit; must be enabled by a key code via Expert/Set Key Code |
| • | None means that the refering encoder or decoder is deactivated |
Profile sample rate:
- sets the Profile sample rate.
Profile bit rate:
- sets the Profile bit rate.
Profile Bit Resolution
At linear also the bit resolution can specified if system version is >= 3.2.0.21. For this the bit rate list box must be right mouse clicked to open a popup menu.
Following selections are possible:
Profile mode:
- sets the Profile mode.
Standard:
Multi channel:
Multi channel can be used with all APT-X algorithms, linear, AAC (MPEG4) and AAC (HE) provided the refering additional function is enabled (see menu item Expert/Set Key Code). Multi channel audio applies ADAT interface.
| • | MC 4:
4 audio channels are used. |
| • | MC 4 CPE:
4 audio channels in CPE mode are used. CPE (= Channel Pair Element) means that a front and rear audio channel pair is encoded. This mode is just available for AAC (MPEG4) and AAC (HE). |
| • | MC 4 MPEG:
4 audio channels are used. In this context MPEG means that a center, a right, a left and a rear audio channel is encoded. This mode is just available for AAC (MPEG4) and AAC (HE). |
| • | MC 6:
6 audio channels are used. |
| • | MC 8:
8 audio channels are used. |
Profile IMUX format:
- sets the Profile IMUX (Inverse Multiplexer) format to one of the following:
[Inverse Multiplexing is necessary for the correct synchronisation of multiple B-channels in an ISDN transmission. If the IMUX format is set to Auto, the will auto-sense the correct format.]
Exception 1:
If a is establish a connection to a CDQ Prima set to MPEG-1/2 Layer II, and line format is H.221, then must be configured with:
| • | Bit rate: 384 kbit/s (even if a smaller bit rate is set at Prima side) |
Exception 2:
If you dial into a APT-X codec, the IMUX format must be set APTX.
Profile audio type:
- sets the Profile audio (i.e. source for Encoder and destination for Decoder) to one of the following:
| • | TOSlink (i.e. optical digital input) |
| • | AES/EBU (i.e. balanced electrical input) |
| • | ADAT (ADAT interface, uses optical port) |
| • | none (only available if system software >= 2.2.0.10) |
Note:
None means that the profile does not set the audio input or output.
With ADAT the following channel combinations are possible:
1) Standard:
| • | 2 channels:ADAT12, ADAT34; ADAT56 .. ADAT2324 |
2) Multi channel (see item mode in menu item Settings/Codec):
| • | 4 channels: ADAT14, ADAT58 |
Profile coder follows:
- sets the Profile dependency to either:
In Remote mode, uses FlashCast technology, which means:
| • | / and /SendIt transmission:
the ‘dialling ’ passes over its’ parameters to the receiver. |
| • | /non Mayah Codecs transmission:
evaluates the settings of the other side and configure itself automatically. |
In most cases remote is the optimum setting.
Profile ancillary data format:
- determines how to Encode/Decode the Ancillary (auxiliary) data carried in the audio data stream.
The following settings are permitted:-
| • | Auto
(detects the ancillary format automatically, provided a MPEG format is used; this does not work with APT-X ancillary data) |
| • | None (only with APT-X algorithms) |
| • | Left (only with APT-X algorithms) |
| • | Right (only with APT-X algorithms) |
All entries becomes valid by clicking the OK-button.
