DR using CIV 5000 for Olympic Games in Rio 2016

Copenhagen, April 21, 2016 - DR has chosen a set of CENTAURI IV 5000 for their 16-channel audio transmission during the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. The Danish national public-service radio and television broadcaster will use the MAYAH audio codecs to transmit the full breadth of its commentary during this major sports event. DR has chosen the CENTAURI IV 5000 for its ability to handle the load of multiple other codecs, thanks to the large number of simultaneous connections it allows. Andy Hartmund and Tobias Dornbusch visited the DR headquarters in Copenhagen with an introduction and to help with the setup of the devices.

DR stands for Danmarks Radio. The company itself call themselves DR and that is how it is also registered in the company register. It is mainly broadcast in Danish, but once a week in Greenlandic and Faroese. The administrative seat is in DR Byen.
