MobileTV and Mobile Multimedia Audio & Video encoding / decoding solutions as well as modern solutions for stereo, multichannel and surround Audio-via-IP are in focus of MAYAH Communications’ activities at Broadcast Asia 2006 Expo.

The MAYAH Audio Video En/Decoders IO [io] 8000/8001 and Centauri II Audio Gateway Codecs deliver high quality audio and video over Ethernet/IP. They can be integrated in virtually any installation and encode in the most efficient, standards based algorithms, MPEG 4 H.264/AVC and AAC HE (aacPlus) v2 using MPEG TS and RTP protocols via Ethernet and ASI interfaces. All data streams of MAYAH devices are ISMA 2.0 compliant. This guarantees full interoperability with set-top boxes, QuickTime, Windows Media, Real Player, VLC, various PDAs and other mobile devices, such as DVB-H and DMB receivers and.

Key features of IO [io] 8000/8001 include low latency of 250 ms, optimised high quality audio and video encoding implementation, auto reconnect after IP / Ethernet failure, decoder follows encoder and many more.

Centauri II and other Audio Gateway Codecs by MAYAH exemplify the compatibility and flexibility demanded by broadcasting and telecommunications industry today. Operating over IP networks with all imaginable protocols and professional audio coding algorithms they are also fully compatible with older synchronous and dedicated networks (e.g. ISDN or E1). FlashCast technology, the unique development of MAYAH allows an automatic recognition and synchronisation with almost any audio codec in the world. Twin/Quad Codec modes, Gateway and Automatic Backup functionality are also making MAYAH codecs unbeatable solution at the top level of professional audio coding and transportation product line.

Some new features and options of MAYAH Audio Codecs will be introduced for the first time to the professionals of Asian market.

•	Highly appreciated AES transparent option allows transmission of up to 4 AES/EBU signal streams with 3.072 Mbit/s each, particularly suitable for transportation of Dolby-E or DTS encoded signals.
•	Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) serves the initiating and signalling IP-calls, localisations and registration of users.
•	MPEG TS with FEC (Forward Error Correction) provides very reliable connections for many possible broadcasting applications and in particular for the highly standardized MobileTV environment (DVB-H and DMB).
•	Dual Ethernet option allows Centauri II to distribute the audio-over-IP and remote control data streams over two separate logical networks.
