MAYAH@ INTERNATIONAL TONMEISTER SYMPOSIUM 2005

From the 31st October until the 2nd of November 2005 MAYAH will join The International Tonmeister Symposium 2005 of the "Verband Deutscher Tonmeister eV." at Schloss Hohenkammer. Because of MAYAHs high market reputation and beeing well known for its innovations (see now the CENTAURI II 3301 MultiChannel-Codec ) MAYAH was asked to introduce its MultiChannel innovation to the interested visitors of this symposium. We were happy to give a Workshop regarding the topic "Coding Independant Multichannel Platform: up to 10 Channel Audio Coding, Streaming and Delivery", which included a live comparision of different audio encoding formats.

During the time of expanding multichannel infrastructures in the broadcast market more and more questions arise regarding the match of audio encoding, available transmission channels and the quality of the individual applications, such as distribution, contribution or event streaming. A platform is introduced which allows 5.1, a stereo downmix and a commentatory channel to be transmitted bi-directional using linear audio, Eapt-X, AAC or aacPlus (AAC HE) via IP@E1 or even 128kbps ISDN.

The introduced platform is the 2nd generation of the CENTAURI Audio Gateway Codec called CENTAURI II and includes a range of network interfaces such as ISDN, IP as well as a variety of encoding algorithms as well as a professional audio interface for analog and digital signals and a mangement software via browser.

In addition to the main transmission, the CENTAURI II is capable to also perform BACKUP, GATEWAY or point-to-multipoint applications

One additional part of the workshop shall be an overview of IP protocols, such as RTP, RTSP, but also SAP in combination with the reliability of used networks.
