 AJC - Automatic Jitter Compensation

ajcImproving the IP connectivity with high sophisticated automatic analysis and parameter setting mechanisms for bit rate, buffer and others.

This advanced feature can be switched on/off, although "off" is only reasonable if certain parameter settings need to be forced and the default time needed of AJC is not considered to be suitable, see http://mayah.com/content/download/pdfs/appnotes/general/a_n_e_033.pdf... for more details.

FEC - Forward Error Correction

Many times – especially when using public networks - like the Internet - IP packets may be lost due to different causes, such as routers discarding damaged packages, overload situation or different routing of different packages of the same stream – which may cause high latency and subsequently package loss.

Different to other FEC schemes, MAYAH's Pro MPEG FEC implementation attempts to recreate the entire lost IP packet. It allows flexible settings in terms of redundancy and performance. This is essential for the use in IP based networks, more details see http://mayah.com/content/download/pdfs/appnotes/general/a_n_e_031.pdf...

Dual IP offers two mono encode/decode

Dual IP offers two bi-directional mono encode/decode transmission chains. Instead of one bi-directional stereo via IP you can split the device into two independant mono units, establishing two bi-directional mono connections via IP. This feature supports any audio coding format, such as G.711, G.722, L2, L3, AAC, AAC HEv2, apt-X and others.

Dual ISDN offers two mono encode/decode

Dual ISDN offers two bi-directional mono encode/decode transmission chains. Instead of one bi-directional stereo via ISDN you can split the device into two independant mono units, establishing two bi-directional mono connections via IP. This feature supports any audio coding format, which allows a bit rate of 64 kbps, such as G.711, G.722, L2, L3, AAC, AAC HEv2, apt-X and others.

8-Channel Audio

MAYAH CENTAURI CIII 4000 is capable of 8 fully independant bi-directional IP connections applying any audio coding format, such as G.711, G.722, L2, L3, AAC, apt-X, eapt-X, linear. The recently adapted WebRemote shows a complete operational interface for controlling 8 inputs and 8 outputs with access to phonebook, direct and last connection calls.

WebRemote 2010

The new web remote control for MAYAH C11, Sporty and Flashman II products is supported for a variety of browsers, such as Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer and others. The web remote can be used for complete device monitoring but also as operational tool to establish and watch connections.

Webremote 2010

Multichannel WebRemote 2010

Different to the web remote 2010 which does allow access to all parameters and confiburation of all audio codec functions, the WR2010MC (MC for multi channel) give its focus to the operational aspect of handling 8 audio channels and their connectivity. They can all be fully bi-directional, thus the control of 8 encoders and 8 decoders is necessary and managed in a positive user interface.

ISDN/IP Gateway

More than 2 decades of successfull ISDN operation have resulted in lots of equipment for this purpose. In order to allow a smooth migration from ISDN to IP, MAYAH CENTAURI III 3001 and C116x and C114x devices support a gateway function. An ISDN connection is transcoded into an IP connection, or vice versa which can be performed with different audio coding formats for the ISDN and IP connection.

Automatic Recovery

MAYAH audio codecs are specified that they can be used in erroneous environments. E.g. after a certain, even pre-defined characteristic of a line failure, an automatic backup can be started, e.g. from IP to ISDN. It is important that as soon as the main line is functioning again, the backup mode is stopped and the main chain is re-established. This is achieved with MAYAH's automatic recovery mode.

Multiple Unicast

Easy poll of a unicast stream from an encoder at up to 11 remote locations. Good distribution alternative in the networks without multicast support. This is fully supported with C11xx and Sporty as well as Flashman II without involving a third party streaming server - very efficient solution!

Multiple Unicast

Point-to-Multipoint over ISDN

Distribute one signal over ISDN to the up to 8 destinations using a single C114x or C116x as well as a CENTAURI III 3001 Audio Codec over ISDN or up to 2 destinations using the reporter codec SPORTY. Different quality levels from G.711/G.722 up to AAC HE are available.

BGAN

All MAYAH Audio Codecs provide APN & Login Support for QoS on BGAN/Inmarsat connections which eliminates the process of also operating the BGAN terminal. Just do it with your MAYAH audio codec. The most secure Audio-over-IP from every corner of the world. MAYAH Audio Codecs Sporty, C11xx, FMII and others have been successfully used with Thrane & Thrane and other BGAN equipment manufacturers.

Audio Logging

Audio LoggingTypcially there are audio codecs for transmission and a separate logging device for archiuving the received audio. Now, with C115x, C116x and C119x there can be simultaneous recording on SD card, USB stick or external audio storage via streaming at the same time of transmission and with the same device.

Efficient combination of transmission and logging.

Simultaneous Recording and Transmission

While fellow journalists just record their materials to cut them and send back to the studio later, you’re On Air with Audio-over-IP / 3G / Wi-Fi and still get your interview recorded as uncompressed audio on an SD Card. This allows you to re-use and edit your recorded audio for second and third party marketing.

Easy Backup for Audio-over-IP

In case of an IP line failure, the device can automatically switch to another IP connection or move to its different interface, such as ISDN for a backup connection. This is fairly simple to set up. In addition it is possible to use devices including audio storage, such as C115x, C116x and C119x for playback audio in case of line failure. Storage media within the devices can be updated regularly via ftp.

Ancillary Data RS232 / USB

Ancillary Data RS323 / USBAdditional data transmission for various purposes is supported via RS232 or USB, respectively. For USB, an RS232-USB-Adapter is provided. There is even a range of compatible modes in order to communicate with other non-standard devices, such as Musiktaxi or CDQPrima.

Via IP it can also be a separate data stream.

Silence Detection

Silence DetectionMAYAH audio codec products do support a signal analysis. Thus, for purposes of monitoring, logging or automatic backup, the audio signal can be controlled in terms of duration and level. For instance, a defined time of 3 seconds and a level of -55dB will cause the audio codec device for a specific pre-defined action, e.g. a backup call ort an alarm output or an SNMP trap indication to the management system.

Low Cost Decode

Ganymed 1002A and 1002Pro are professional decoders in the low cost range offering IP decoding of Layer 2, Layer 3, AAC and linear audio. As a sophisticated feature they can listen to multiple streams and change between them depending on availability or time or both.

MAYAH Ganymed

Redundant Audio Streaming

MAYAH supports redundant streaming for more stability and secure audio transmission. Two Ethernet ports are available to output simultaneously identical packets to the network or even to different networks. At the decoding side a control analysis is available determining the best stream and using this for the decoding process.

SIP+ for enhanced usage of SIP

From the beginning in 2006, MAYAH supports fully the EBU N/ACIP recommendation. Its support goes even beyond the existing recommendations which are fully implemented. All different types of algorithms and bit rates as well as access to MAYAH SIP test servers are available with a touch of a button.
