Overview

When running as an encoder the IO [io] 8000 / 8001 offers SP/ASP and AVC/H.264 encoding, automatic scene change detection, horizontal subsampling and many other options. Drawing on MAYAH’s long experience in IP based solutions it also supports ToS / Diff.Serv. enabling a stream the highest priorization possible in a LAN/WAN or an „IP over satellite“ scenario.

The IO [io] 8000 / 8001 can also run as a decoder; offering increased flexibility as well as a saving on investment. The IO [io] 8000 / 8001 has extremely low latency – in the range of ≥ 500 ms for „end to end“ IP based connections – making it the ideal for „live“ situations. And ran as a decoder it has a permanent “stand by” mode which starts decoding immediately when a remote IO [io] 8000 / 8001 encoder, e.g. in an OB van, starts streaming. In addition, when changes are made to the encoder settings the decoder will automatically re-sync to the encoder. Using MAYAH’s remote control software or Telnet/SMNP it is therefore possible to control the units from anywhere in the world.

The IO [io] 8000 / 8001 supports both analog video in/outs as well as SDI video in/out with embedded audio in an “all-in-one” system, making it the ideal broadcasting solution. And although it supports SDI embedded audio, the IO [io] 8000 / 8001’s analog and AES / EBU audio in/outs can be used in parallel with “SDI video only”, enabling its use in an existing equipment infrastructure.
